Olivia Tremor Control was one of three Athens, Georgia bands that spawned what became known as the Elephant 6 Collective, a group of friends and like-minded musicians who would trade music and collaborate on songs. The original members were Olivia Tremor Control, Neutral Milk Hotel (which included Olivia Tremor Control member Jeff Mangum) and The Apples in Stereo. Other groups considered part of the collective included Of Montreal, Beulah, Elf Power and the post-OTC projects Circulatory System (which also featured Will Hart) and The Sunshine Fix (featuring Bill Doss).
