Released in 1988, Oliver and Company is the 27th full-length Disney animated feature. Set in New York City during modern times, the film replaces humans with dogs and cats to recreate the classic Charles Dickens story of Oliver Twist.
Plot Summary
Orphaned kitten Oliver is alone in the big city until he finds friendship with Dodger and his group of misfit dogs, who eke out a living committing petty burglary for their human master, Fagin. While out with his friends, Oliver is rescued from an unfortunate situation by a kindly little girl named Jenny who invites him to live with her. Unaware that Oliver is content in his new home, Dodger and the gang "rescue" Oliver, initiating a series of events that result in Jenny getting kidnapped by Sykes the loan shark, whom Fagin is indebted to. Oliver and his friends set out on an adventure to rescue Jenny and foil Sykes' evil plot.
