  • Oldboy is a popular South Korean film based on the Japanese manga comic of the same name. The story centers around Oh Dae-su, a man kidnapped and imprisoned for 15 years, and his quest for vengeance against his captors.

    Oldboy is the second installment in Park Chan-wook's "Vengeance Trilogy," which includes Sympathy for Mr. Vengeance and Sympathy for Lady Vengeance.

    Oldboy won the Grand Prix at the 2004 Cannes Film Festival, and an American remake has been in development since that time.     An English language version of the manga comic on which the film is based was released by Dark Horse Comics in July 2006.
