Oksana Grigorieva

Oksana Grigorieva is a Russian singer and musician and the former girlfriend of actor Mel Gibson. Grigorieva debuted her first single "Say My Name'" on June 16, 2009. The single is featured on her album Beautiful Heartache.

Grigorieva was born in Saransk, Russia in 1970. She would grow up to pursue musical studies in Moscow, which would eventually lead her to teaching music at the Royal College of Music in London in the mid 1990s. About that time, Oksana began dating and eventually married actor Timothy Dalton. In years to follow, Grigorieva and Dalton split, and she headed to the United States to work on her composing and new methods for teaching music to children. Oksana also composed songs for pop singers including Josh Groban. It was in 2009 that she released her first solo album.

In recent years though, Grigorieva has, perhaps, become most famous for dating actor Mel Gibson and having his baby. In May of 2009, Grigorieva confirmed swirling rumors that she was pregnant. She gave birth to the couple's daughter, Lucia, on October 30, 2009. In April 2010 the singer confirmed the news that she had split from Mel Gibson, and the ensuing battle of words, secret recordings, and lawsuits between the two has been the focus of much tabloid drama. Grigorieva has made allegations that Gibson was physically and verbally abusive during, and immediately after their relationship. Rumors emerged in print while Gibson was on location in Boston filming Edge of Darkness and continued as the actor was spotted with the same slim brunette woman in Mexico City and then again in Costa Rica in March 2009.

• After photos were published of Gibson and Oksana, his wife of 28 years, Robyn Gibson, filed for a divorce. Gibson denied that the alleged affair played a role in his pending divorce. • On April 14, 2009, Russian popstar Oksana Pochepa claimed she was the woman seen in the photographs with Mel Gibson. The 24-year-old said, "I don't know how long it will last, as we are different people.
