According to court papers filed in Los Angeles County Superior Court, Robyn Gibson cited irreconcilable differences. The couple have seven children, but only one, Tom, is still a minor. Robyn Gibson has asked for joint custody of Tom and has also asked for spousal support and attorney's fees. Mel Gibson claims the couple separated on August 26, 2006, though Robyn Gibson has not confirmed the date of their separation.
