    The trailer begins by showing Odd Horten's retirement party for his forty years of service as a train engineer. He has the weekend before he is officially retired but the train pulls out before he can board on his last day. Instead he "embarks on a rather odd journey" as the narrator describes where he no longer cares about judgment from others and experiences new avenues in his life.
