A man, allegedly Nathaniel Brown, opened fire at the Ohio State University on March 9, 2010, killing 48-year-old building service manager Larry Wallington and injuring another man, Henry Butler. The suspect then took his own life. Brown was a 51-year-old custodial worker and was reportedly upset over a poor performance evaluation. He had worked at the university for 10 years. Brown allegedly arrived at the maintenance building with two handguns and opened fire in the early morning of March 9. He shot himself and was taken to a hospital, where he was pronounced dead. Besides shooting himself and Wallington, he also shot Butler, who is hospitalized, but in stable condition. Brown opened fire in a room of the maintenance building where there were over six employees at the time of the shooting. He asked to speak to Wallington and when he saw him, he started shooting at him. According to reports, Butler was shot by accident as Brown ran after Wallington, who tried to escape.
