Ohio State University's football program often dominates the headlines in Columbus, Ohio, where many fans hold their college football team above most of life's other pursuits. The Buckeyes rarely fail to contend for the Big Ten Conference title, and in the 2000s, Coach Jim Tressel took the school to three national championship games, winning one. Coaching legend Woody Hayes led OSU to five Division 1-A titles during his 27-year tenure (1951-1978).
