Odalis Amadol Perez was born in Las Matas De Farfan, Dominican Republic, on March 11, 1977. He attended Damian Davis Ortiz High School. In 1994, he signed as an amateur free agent with the Atlanta Braves.
Pro Career
On September 1, 1998, Perez made his MLB debut with the Atlanta Braves. In his first season, he appeared in 10 games and compiled a 4.22 earned run average. In 2002, he was traded with Brian Jordan and Andrew Brown to the Los Angeles Dodgers for Gary Sheffield. In 2002, he was elected to the National League All-star team.
