  • Antibodies to the virus adenovirus 36, also called AD-36, have been found in a high percentage of obese people. People with these antibodies have unusually low cholesterol and triglycerides as compared to people at similar levels of obesity who do not have the virus. AD-36 appears to transform adult stem cells into pre-fat cells that hold more fat than normal fat cells.
