Obama Seal

Barack Obama unveiled a new campaign device on June 20, 2008, in the form of a transformed presidential seal. The seal features an eagle clutching an olive branch and spears in its talons, just as in the official Presidential Seal, but instead of "E Pluribus Unum," the seal reads "Vero Possumus," which translates roughly into English as "Yes, we can."Boston Globe: An Awfully Presidential Logo (June 20, 2008)

Criticism

Republican National Committee spokesperson Danny Diaz said Obama will "be judged on his record" and not on "oversized, make-believe presidential logos."Boston Globe: An Awfully Presidential Logo (June 20, 2008)
