Obama I Pledge Video

"I Pledge" is a video featuring celebrities "pledging" to "be of service to Barack Obama" by becoming involved in their communities. The video was created by Ashton Kutcher and Demi Moore, who said the idea was inspired before Inauguration Day; Kutcher explained he wanted to make the same pledge towards the president as he made to the public. The video debuted in January 2009.http://www.oprah.com/media/20090119_orig_demiashton

The video sparked controversy in September 2009, after a school principal showed the video during an assembly at a Utah grade school. Some felt the video promoted "radical, leftist propaganda," specifically the vows to support stem cell research and drive hybrid cars. http://www.sltrib.com/news/ci_13249171?_requestid=5883011
