    Oatmeal cookies are one of the classic cookies and can be very versatile. Practically any small fruit, nut or candy can be added into the cookie dough. The dough can be kept refrigerated a couple of days or frozen up to a month.

  • How to Make Oatmeal Cookies

    1. Mix 1 and 1/2 cups flour and a teaspoon baking soda.
    2. Cream 1 cup unsalted room temperature butter with 1/2 cup sugar and 1 cup brown sugar. Add in 1 egg and a 1 teaspoon pure vanilla extract.
    3. Add the flour mixture to the butter mixture a little at a time until it is combined.
    4. Add 1 and 1/2 cups oatmeal and a cup of raisins, a cup of chocolate chips, and a cup of pecans, or whatever additions are preferred. Mix until evenly combined.
    5. Drop spoonfuls of the dough onto a greased cookie sheet and bake in a 350 degree Fahrenheit oven for 8 to 10 minutes.
