O.J. Mayo is a professional basketball player for the Memphis Grizzlies of the National Basketball Association. After playing one season with USC, Mayo declared for the 2008 NBA draft and was selected third overall by the Minnesota Timberwolves. His rights were then traded to the Grizzlies.

O.J. Mayo was a standout high school basketball player in Ohio and then West Virginia. Mayo was expected to make the jump straight from high school to the NBA before the rule was instated that players must be at least one year removed from high school graduation before playing in the NBA.
