Nutrition is measured in macronutrients: proteins, fats and carbohydrates; and micronutrients: vitamins and minerals. Proteins are made up of amino acids. Fats are classified in three categories, saturated, monounsaturated and polyunsaturated. Carbohydrates consist of sugars and starches.
