Nunavut

Nunavut is the largest of the three Canadian territories and was officially created on April 1, 1999, although the boundaries were established in 1993. It is comprised of a large chunk of the Canadian Arctic north of Manitoba along with several large and many small islands.

Population

The least populated of all the Canadian provinces and territories, Nunavut is home to around 30,000 people spread across an area the size of Western Europe. Native Inuit people make up about 85 percent of the population and with a median age of 22, Nunavut has the youngest population in Canada. The largest employer in the territory is the Government and 27 percent of people are employed by the large arts community.
