Woodland, CA based Nugget Markets is a family owned supermarket chain founded in 1926 in Sacramento, California by the Stille family.
Always among the innovators in the grocery industry Nugget Markets they were one of the first California grocery stores to move its meat department indoors and to use power belts at checkout registers for customer’s convenience.
In addition to developing its chain locations Nugget Markets also franchises several Food 4 Less locations from Kroger, helping to ensure that grocery prices remain affordable according to the economic base of the neighborhoods the stores are situated in.
Nugget Markets' customers blog about the chain’s cleanliness, the showcase like departments in the stores and the variety of delicious prepared foods available. The Vacaville, California location features a European Market style atmosphere, offering bakeries, an expanded wine selection and in house chefs to provide meal planning assistance. In addition it also houses a cooking school.
