Real Nude It App
In early January 2010, a real "Nude It" app was added to the iPhone store, which promises the same functionality as the "Nude It" YouTube video. In a press release, Presselite states:
"Nude It is a funny Augmented Reality application for the iPhone that lets you see through clothes. Simply point your iPhone at a friend (less than 6.5 ft / 2 m from you), and using Nude It scanning technology, you will see him or her totally in the nude. Please, note that you must clearly see your friend's face on the screen to get good results."
In practice, the app works like this: the person holding the iPhone points the camera to a person, taking a snapshot photo. The Nude It app superimposes a stock photo of a man or woman in undies, to resemble a naked body. Fastcompany has tried the app, which gave the following result:
