Becoming a Pro
Novak Djokovic was only four years old when he picked up a tennis racquet. By the time he was eight, he was discovered by Jelena Gencic, and though his parents were concerned about their young son traveling on a tournament circuit without a wealthy family, Djokovic was taken in at Nikola Pilic's tennis academy where Pilic took Djokovic in as his own son. By the age of 14, Djokovic finished a European championship and won gold in San Remo. Only a few years later, Djokovic found himself on the ATP tour and officially ranked.Official Site: Novak Djokovic Biography
