Becoming a Pro
Novak Djokovic was only four years old when he picked up a tennis racquet. By the time he was eight, he was discovered by Jelena Gencic, and though his parents were concerned about their young son traveling on a tournament circuit without a wealthy family, Djokovic was taken in at Nikola Pilic's tennis academy where Pilic took Djokovic in as his own son. By the age of 14, Djokovic finished a European championship and won gold in San Remo. Only a few years later, Djokovic found himself on the ATP tour and officially ranked.Official Site: Novak Djokovic BiographyQuote
"Djokovic is definitely ready to win a Grand Slam. This guy can beat any player on the ATP Tour. He has just proved that, by beating them in the last couple of days. He is still very young, and is level with Federer and Nadal."—Bjorn BorgOfficial Site: Quotes About Novak-
