History
The Troubles date back to 17th century British domination of Ireland. The 20th century conflict, however, arises from the 1921 division of Ireland that left the six counties of Northern Ireland as part of Great Britain. Throughout the conflict, the opposing sides negotiated through third parties, until finally meeting in face-to-face in a negotiation that led to the Northern Ireland Devolution. The Sydney Morning Herald: Northern Ireland power-sharing deal announced
