Northern Illinois University Shooting

  • A shooting on the campus of Northern Illinois University has left at least 6 people dead, including the gunman, Steve Kazmierczak, and a total of 22 people injured. Reports of a white male shooter armed with a shotgun and a pistol went out to police at around 3 p.m. on February 14, 2008. A general alert has been issued and classes have been canceled for the remainder of the day and February 15. Illinois governor has declared a state of emergency.
