University History
The school was founded in 1887 as the North Carolina College of Agriculture and Mechanic Arts. The first classes were held in 1889, for 72 students, in a single building. After many additions and name changes, the current school has more than 700 buildings on a 2,110-acre campus.Notable Alumni
