North Carolina Central University is a historically African-American college that is now home to the largest public law school facilities in the Southeast United States.

University History
Originally founded in 1909, the school opened in 1910 as the National Religious Training School. The school went through financial difficulties in its first years, then was sold in 1923. In 1925, it was renamed the North Carolina College for Negroes and was changed to a four-year liberal arts school. Nearly 15 years later, the school began offering graduate programs in law and sciences. After receiving its current name in 1969, the college joined the University of North Carolina system in 1972.Notable Alumni
