Norah Jones

Norah Jones is a Grammy Award-winning singer, and songwriter. Born in New York City, her father is legendary Indian musician, Ravi Shankar. Jones was raised by her mother, Sue Jones in Dallas. At Birth her father gave her the fitting name of Geethali, which means song or melodious. Norah Jones became interested in jazz music during high school. She attended the Booker T. Norah Jones played in coffee houses and jazz clubs early in her career. After moving back to New York City in 1999, she played with several bands, including Wax Poetic and the Peter Malick Group.
