  • Career

    Roberts very first novel was created during a blizzard in 1979 and was rejected by Harlequin saying that they already had a American author, Janet Dailey. In 1980 a new publisher called Silhouette Books opened up and accepted her first novel, Irish Thoroughbred. Roberts continued writing for Silhouette and created 23 novels in a two year period. In 1995 she started writing romantic suspense novels under her pen name, J.D. Robb. Roberts has had 68 novels on The New York Times Bestsellers List between 1991 and 2001. In 2007 four of her novels where turned into TV movies by Lifetime Television.
