NOFX is a
Punk Rock band from
San Francisco,
California that helped to develop and define the "Skate-Punk" ethos of the early
1990s. While releasing a number of self-produced recordings, the band signed with Epitaph Records in
1989 and released the album
S&M; Airlines. But it wasn't until
1994's
Punk in Drublic that the band first caught the ear of mainstream audiences. Released the same year as
Green Day's seminal album
Dookie, Drublic rode the back of the new
Punk movement to achieve Gold status. Since then, NOFX has continued to write and record new music and has become an inspiration for a new generation of independent-minded new bands.
