Nobuo Uematsu is a Japanese video game music composer.

Career
Nobuo Uematsu got his first gig composing for Square Enix video games while working at a music rental shop. His first game score was for Square's 1986 Cruise Chaser Blassty PC game. The following year, he started work on the Final Fantasy series, which he is best known for.Since 1987, Uematsu has composed music for every Final Fantasy game, incorporating electronic, rock, and classical elements to each installment. As a result, he has been praised by many fans and peers for adding credibility to the genre of game scoring.
In 2004, Uematsu left Square Enix and established the Smile Please label to produce his future projects under. He also infrequently performs with his band The Black Mages.
