No Regrets For Our Youth (Japan:Waga Seishun ni Kuinashi) is a 1946 Japanese film directed by Akira Kurosawa, written by Eijiro Hisaita andAkira Kurosawa, starring Setsuko Hara, Susumu Fujita, Denjiro Okochi and Haruko Sugimura. The film tells about Yukie, a daughter of a univerisity professor, who finds her father fired, and her boyfriend arrested and shot for political activity.

Plot Synopsis
Yukie (Setsuko Hara), a professor's daughter, gets pulled into the political and social turmoil of Japan preceding World War II. Her father gets fired from the university, and her student boyfriend get arrested and killed for political activities. She decides to move to the country, to live with her boyfriend's parents, where she struggles to make sense of the new situation she finds herself in. -
