• College Football Career

  Prior to playing in the NFL, Asomugha played college football with the California Golden Bears in the NCAA. He recorded 187 tackles, three sacks and seven interceptions in 41 games with the Golden Bears. • NFL Career

  Asomugha made his professional debut as a safety with the Oakland Raiders in 2003, playing in 15 games his rookie season. Continuing with the team, Asomugha earned a starting spot in 2005 and went on to record a career-high 60 tackles that year. After moving to cornerback in 2006, he totaled eight interceptions, one of which he returned for 24 yards to score a touchdown. In 2008, Asomugha was selected to play in the Pro Bowl.
