NLCS

The National League Championship Series (NLCS) is the second of three rounds in the MLB Playoffs, which is used to determine the champion of Major League Baseball. The NLCS is played in a best four-of-seven-games series between the winners of the two National League Division Series. If the National League Championship Series consists of two division-winning teams, the team with the higher record will host games one and two, plus six and seven, if necessary. In the 2010 MLB Playoffs, the National League Championship Series is slated to begin around Saturday, October 16, 2010, and will conclude on Sunday, October 24, 2010, or sooner should one team win four games earlier in the series. In the 2009 MLB Playoffs, the Philadelphia Phillies defeated the Colorado Rockies in four games and the Los Angeles Dodgers defeated the St. Louis Cardinals to reach the NLCS.
