Hackers have developed countless ways to make so-called "homebrew" applications and games for everything from the Nintendo Wii to the Nintendo DS and DSi. Nintendo Fights Piracy
Nintendo estimates that in 2007, it lost $975 million globally due to piracy.Engadget: Nintendo estimates it lost $975m worldwide... In July of 2008, the company cracked down hard, joining more than 50 software manufacturers in filing a lawsuit against a group of Japanese firms allegedly importing and selling unlicensed hardware that allowed users to play pirated games.
