Nintendo DS hacks are alterations made to an original Nintendo DS hand-held gaming console. A Nintendo DS portable game player from Nintendo can be "hacked" to perform a variety of functions, from playing MP3s from an external media player, to exporting games to a television or personal computer. The modifications, games and applications added to a hacked DS are referred to as being "homebrew". Homebrew DS applications are unauthorized by Nintendo.http://www.mahalo.com/nintendo-ds-hacks Among the Nintendo DS hacks that some install on their systems include an onscreen DSLinux keyboard.http://hackaday.com/2005/06/20/nintendo-ds-linux-keyboard/ Another hack would be to turn a DS into a phone by using a download called SvSip. A MetCafe video creator featured this hack in a video, which was posted in 2008.http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=T7CGxBabv4c
While hacking a device such as a Nintendo DS can leave your game player with expanded functionality, it is generally discouraged. Hacked devices may become non-functional and they are often void from warranty by Nintendo once the firmware is altered.http://www.mahalo.com/nintendo-ds-hacks
Please be aware that hacking your owned device is at your own risk and is not advised. Mahalo does not take responsibility for any ill-effects that come of hacking your gaming system.
