Chapter 6 - The Lycanthropes' Castle
- Watch the cutscene, in which the walls and pillars crumble in the water cavern area. When the cutscene ends, all of the Undead Fish are (thankfully) gone, leaving you free to explore the area are your leisure.
- Near where you fought the Water Dragon, you'll see a very small square rock between two pillars. Use this to wall-jump between them all the way up to the top of the pillars.
- On top you'll find a Muramasa shop. Use it to restock yourself.
- There is a Crystal Skull on the opposite side of the shop, on an isolated pillar area. In order to get it, go up on the ledge above it, and walk down the steps.
- Continue around the ledge after you get the skull, and drop down into an alcove and get the crate, containing a Talisman of Rebirth inside.
- Jump from the platforms on the structure over to a long cliff, then turn right and jump over more platoforms.
- Jump over onto the cliff area.
- The Undead Fish are, in fact, not actually dead. They will were only hiding apparently. They will try to kill you periodically. Shake them off when they attack, and use the Dragon Sword to finish them off.
- There is a chest at the end of the walkway to the right with an Herb of Spiritual Life.
- Head back the other way on the cliff's edge, and wall-run over the gap onto the ledge ahead. You will be attacked by Water Demons. Destroy them.
- Find a chest to the left containing Red Orbs.
- Head back out onto the pillars from the cliff area. Continue around the circular pillar and jump to the next platform, making sure you get the Devil Way Mushroom one the left.
- Continue straight ahead into the structure and save your game at the save point.
- Head into the caves, where Water Demons are waiting for you. Kill them.
- Continue down the path into the caves. Find a Jewel of the Demon Seal on the dead body straight ahead. Use it to raise the level of one of your Ninpos.
- When you're ready, use the Skull Key on the gate with skulls on it.
- TIP: When you head inside, you will be greeted by a new enemy, the Bone Scorpion. The Bone Scorpion is a small enemy, and so can be launched into the air. Zip around them using Flying Swallow, and use the (X Y) combo to slice them up into the air. You might also consider using the Kusari-gama for its speed.
- When the Bone Scorpions are all eliminated, a cutscene will occur, and a mid-boss battle will begin.
-
Sub-Boss - Undead Monster
- TIP: The main strategy for the Undead Monster, is to stay down around his legs or behind him at all times, and use the Flying Swallow move continuously on his legs. The Flying Swallow does relatively light damage to the Undead Monster, but when performed three times back-and-forth in one jump (Y while jumping forward, + L right and left) it can add up to a decent amount of damage. Additionally, when you're slashing the Undead Monster while under his legs, he will have very little opportunity to retaliate.
- TIP: When the boss becomes stunned he will sit down and slump over. Move in close and use the Blade of Susano'o technique (X Y X X X X) to slice upwards and hit the glowing red orb in his chest with a flurry of slashes for major damage.
- Use every Ninpo you have. If you aim your Ninpo correctly, you'll damage him greatly.
- Continue this process and he should fall soon enough.

- When you regain control of Ryu wall-run up the only wall you can, and continue up the spiraling path up the cave. Water Demons will attack you. Defeat them.
- Enter the smaller door deeper in the caves. Bone Scorpions will attack you. Defeat them, remembering to move quickly around so they can't jump and attack you.
- Find a chest in the next room containing Blue Orbs . After getting the Blue Orbs , eliminate the attacking Water Demons.
- Continue down the path and encounter more Bone Scorpions. Remember to launch them into the air whenever possible, as this make them quickly crumble.
- When you come to a cliff, do not fall. It will set you way back to where you fought the skeleton sub-boss and you'll have to climb all the way back up.
- In the next room right more Bone Scorpions. You can use the Shurikens, Fiend's Bane Bow or other ranged attack to kill the Bone Scorpions from a distance across the gap when you come to it.
- Continue up the path, where another crowd of Bone Scorpions will attack you. Eliminate them.
- You will eventually come to a large pit, and if you fall you will land back to the mini-boss area again.
- Jump to the furthest wall straight ahead, and then use the FLYING BIRD technique to jump all the up until you exit the dungeon.
- Save your game at the nearby save point, then go up the stairs and find a Muramasa shop. Restock yourself.
- Go up the ladder on the tower in the middle of the area, and find a chest with a Grains of Spiritual Life inside.
- Go back down the stairs, and trigger a cutscene.
- You will need to fight off a crowd of Beastmen. Remember to use Flying Swallow, Ultimate TechniqueS (very helpful in crowds of Beastmen) and Obliteration Techniques.
- Go inside the newly opened door right next to the save point. More Beastmen will attack you. Destroy them.
- Once they're down, continue down the steps and you'll come to a downward spiral staircase. Take it down.
- Eventually you will come to a wide open room, where a crowd of Beastmen will attack. Kill them, and then head right up the stairs.
- You'll be met by a group of Water Demons. Destroy them.
- Continue up the steps and fight more Water Demons next to the cannons as you head along the path.
- At this point you will spot a large mansion/castle to the left. Explore the area.
- To the right of the building there is a small wooden door, which you can't open. Don't go straight into the building yet, go to the left of the door and find a chest with Red Orbs first.
- Head to the right of the door, and save your game at the save point.
- NOTE: You actually cannot enter through the front door of the building. Go up the ladder next to the save point.
- Continue along the path, finding ARROWS on the corpse.
- Turn left and use the FLYING BIRD technique to jump up between the two close walls. When you get to the top, Flying Demons will be waiting for you. Destroy them. Remember to use the Fiend's Bane Bow, and jump and hit B twice to kill each flying demon. You can get off two arrow shots in one jump.
- Continue off to the right of the where the Flying Demons were.
- Bear left along the path, and encounter two Beastmen. Kill them. Remember that when in small numbers, the Lunar Staff can be a formidable weapon against larger enemies such as the Beastmen.
- Continue upwards along the path, bear left and a custcene occurs.
- After the cutscene ends, continue around the curved path. You'll need to now grab onto one of the copper poles hanging across the expanse, and flip forwards from pole to pole, and then finally through the large stain glass window.
- When you flip through the stain glass window, you'll be in a huge church room with polished floors, and many Water Demons will attack you. Destroy them quickly before they can get the upper hand.
- Once they're down, get the chest in the center of the room, containing the Bronze Key .
- Go outside, and find a dead body with Inukoma's Notebook.
- Continue across the courtyard, and use the the Bronze Key on the door straight ahead.
- Drop down through the hole in front of you.
- You'll be in a kitchen area with a ton of Beastmen. Kill them, and then move to the next room.
- Smash some barrels in the corner, and find a Life of the Gods in a crate. Use it.
- Continue through the door, and save your game at the save point to the right.
- When you're ready, dead into the next big room area, where there are many Beastmen.
- TIP: This section can be fairly difficult, given the sheer number of Beastmen you'll go up against. When in doubt, Flying Swallow around, getting in three slashes per combo. Focus on one Beastman at a time if possible, wound him, and then unleash an Obliteration Technique. When even one of them is down, this gives you the opportunity to Reverse Wind out of the fray for a moment, draw some essence (which makes you charge faster), and hit the crowd with an Ultimate Technique. You cannot launch Beastmen into the air, so stick to ground combos.
- Once they're dead, head up the main large staircase in the room, and go to the left of the landing. Find a crate at the end of walkway with an Herb of Spiritual Life.
- To the right, the other way from the landing, there is a door that is locked for now.
- Head back down the main staircase, and through the side-door to the right. The Beastmen continue. For your information, be advised there are two more rooms full of Beastmen.
- Enter the room and encounter a crowd of Beastmen. You have a couple options at this point: You can choose to fight it out with the Beastmen in this room, using the large dining table in the middle of the room to launch attacks off of. Or, you can retreat back into the main room you just came from, where you will have much more room to put together some sensible combos. Whichever you choose, take them out.
- Once they're dead, go to the right and through the next door. Yet another crowd of Beastmen will attack you. Keep moving, whether you're darting around slashing multiple Beastmen, or staying focused on one enemy at a time.
- When they're down, go through the door at the end of the room.
- Enter the circular room with armor on the walls, and encounter a crowd of Water Demons. Kill them all and get the key up against a wall.
- Go back to the main room and up the stairs to the right (to the door that was previously locked). Open up the locked door with the key.
- Head through, go up the stairs and save your game at the save point. Destroy all of the Ninjas along the way.
- Enter the room at the top of the staircase and unleash a fury of attacks among the many ninjas in this room. Remember to launch small enemies into the air.
- When you're ready, enter a fireplace-type structure and use the Flying Bird technique to jump to the top.
- When you arrive at the top, you'll face a crowd of Water Demons. Defeat Them.
- Once they've been terminated, enter the door on your right. Face off against more Ninjas and cut them down to pieces.
- To your left, go all the way down to yet another fireplace-like structure and use the Flying Bird technique to jump to the top.
- Save your game at the save point on your immediate left.
- If you climb down the ladder to the lower level in front of the save point, you will encounter a crowd of Beastmen. To avoid this (for now), use the series of poles stretched across the gap to swing over to the next area.
- Go forward and on the left will be another series of poles. On the next platform, stock up at the Muramasa shop and open the chest to receive Red Orbs. However, one of the chestS may contain Undead Fish.
- Head back the way you came. You cannot use the poles from here to swing back across the main area, so you will have to drop down and fight the crowd of Beastmen. Do so and eliminate them, but at least now you should be stocked up on supplies.
- Once you're back at the main entrance to building, attempt the open the door. It will locked. When you attempt to head back down the steps from the door, this will trigger a battle with yet more Beastmen. Destroy them all to gain a "Golden Key". #Head back up the steps to unlock the huge door.
- After the cutscene ends, prepare to battle more Beastmen.
- TIP: If you're in trouble, and after defeating at least one fiend, hold down the Y button to suck up all the essence around so you can unleash an Ultimate Technique, and effectively defeat each wolf fiend one by one.
- When they're down, examine the chair at the top of the stairs by pressing the RB button and a trapdoor opens up in the floor. Drop all the way down to another underground pathway.
- You will be engaged by Water Demons. Use the Izuna Drop technique (X Y X X X Y).
- There will be a save point on the right side as you walk down the passageway. Save your game.
- Enter the door at the end of the pathway. More Water Demons will charge at you. Destroy them.
- Now get out of the water and head up the stairs on the left. There will be a chest on the left with Red Orbs.
- Examine the big door, which will tell you it is firmly shut. You will have to find another way inside.
- Head back down the stairs where you'll find another staircase. Follow it down and find a corpse with more arrows.
- Keep going and head down yet more stairs and you'll be attacked by a group of Water Demons.
- When they're down, keep going straight and examine the corpse for more arrows if you need them.
- Use the Fiend's Bane Bow to take care of the surrounding Flying Demons. Jump, then use the bow to take care of them all.
- When the Flying Demons have been eliminated, keep going forward and enter the next room.
- When the finally enter the door at the end of the hallway it will trigger a cutscene and boss battle against Volf, the Wolf King.
Boss - Volf
- TIP: The main strategy we used against Volf is as follows: Immediately close the distance between you and Volf, Reverse Wind in circles around him, and use short ground combos to wear down his health. When you've finished your combo, start using Reverse Wind again in circles, blocking any of Volf's combos that connect.
- Volf has four hands and the Eclipse Scythe (which you will acquire after the battle) that can deal a lot of damage to you. He has multiple melee combos, so make sure you block liberally whenever he starts a combo, and then Reverse Wind to dodge out of the way.
- TIP: As with any boss battle, use any and all Ninpo you have. This is very effective against him.
- Keep using Flying Swallow (Y while jumping forard), which is also a solid way to inflict quick damage.
- Keep moving around as much as you can, and block constantly. Eventually Volf will fall, leaving you with the Eclipse Scythe. However, the battle is not over; you still must defeat a large group of Beastmen to continue.
- See the full Eclipse Scythe combo list below.
- Now you'll have to deal with the crowd of Beastmen. Defeat them all.
- NOTE: The "Eclipse Scythe" is not necessarily the best weapon to use against these Beastmen, since it's a bit slow and you haven't had time to get properly acquainted with the combos. If you're having trouble, switch back to the Dragon Sword.
- TIP: As previously stated, make good use of charging up your dragon sword, absorbing essence around you holding the Y button to unleash an Ultimate Technique among the Beastmen. This can be a very useful tactic. Remember though, doing this can be interrupted. The Beastmen will often throw the severed body parts of their fallen brethren, so choose your moments to pause wisely.
- Once you defeat approximately six Beastmen, the battle will finally be over and a cutscene is triggered.
- Achievement: Vanquished Volf
- Achievement: Finished Chapter 6
