Chapter 11 - A Tempered Gravestone
- At the beginning of the level Ryu will upgrade the Dragon Sword one more level, to level four. Take a second to learn the new combos of the TRUE Dragon Sword, which can come in handy in these later battles. Thew new combos are: the new Ultimate Technique the Blade of the Dragon's Scales, the Steel Splitter (X X X Y), the CLOUD DRAGON Flying Swallow (X Y [hold] - Y Y Y) and the new charge technique the True Dragon Gleam (L clockwise circle, hold Y to full charge). The True Dragon Gleam can be difficult to execute in the heat of battle, but if done so properly can level a crowd. Also the CLOUD DRAGON Flying Swallow is an excellent airborne combo. Take a second to fully incorporate it into your arsenal.
- Head down the stairway and battle the Ninjas as they come at you. Try to keep your battles behind cover as there are archers firing exploding arrows at you. Feel free to back up if you need something to hide behind while you fight.
- Continue along the wooden bridge. Keep your enemies as close as possible. If they get too far they will use incendiary shurikens against you.
- Head down the stairs and to the left, and restock yourself at the Muramasa shop. #When ready take the stairs just to the left of the shop. As soon as you touch them Ninjas will rush you. Remember to launch/throw them whenever possible. If you get bogged down, use the Ninpo of your choice to clear out the enemies.
- Save your game at the save point at the bottom of the stairs. After saving you will be attacked by an archer, use arrows against him. If you run out, restock your supply from from the cache at the end of the alley to the left of the save point. #Head down the steps where you will be attacked by more Ninjas and archers. Find cover to kill the archers, then eliminate the Ninjas. Continue through the archer towers.
- When you get to the bottom of the stairs you will be mobbed by normal Ninjas and Ninpo Ninjas. Try to take out the Ninpo Ninjas first, and then Flying Swallow and throw the rest around until they're gone.
- Head right from the battle area, down the hallway. At the end of the hallway encounter a slew of archers waiting for you to enter. Pick them off from a distances with the Fiend's Bane Bow.
- At the end of the hallway there is another courtyard with Ninjas. Flying Swallow them to death and then save your game at the save point.
- Head down the stairs. Go across the bridge and open the door. You will be attacked by a large group of Ninja Dogs and a few archers.
- TIP: The Vigoorian Flail is an effective weapon against small, fast enemies such as the Ninja Dogs.
- After you clear the area, go to the right and head up the stairs. Pick up the Jizo Statue Head halfway up the stairs, and then head through the graveyard. Find the key to Kureha's room on the gravestone at the end.
- Head back down and cross the bridge again. Re-save since you'll pass the save point.
- Continue backtracking and open Kureha's relic room with the key. The chest to the left will have a Spirit of the Devils. The chest to the right will have a Talisman of Rebirth, and the chest in the center contains the Windmill Shuriken.
- TIP: This is a very useful weapon. Think of the Windmill Shuriken as a long-range, extremely powerful Flying Swallow attack. When fully charged up the Windmill Shuriken can nearly one-hit kill a Chainsaw Bazooka Zombie, to give you an idea. Use it often throughout the rest of the game. Wait for large enemies to get within range, and then unleash the fully charged shuriken on them.
- Save again at the save point. Head back down to the area where you fought the Ninja Dogs. You will be attacked by Shadow Ninjas and Melee Ninjas. This is a very difficult battle. You will need to use Ninpo if you have it. Use ground attacks against the Shadow Ninjas and air attacks like the Cloud Ninja Flying Swallow against the Melee Ninjas. If you can isolate one of the Shadow Ninjas, you might quickly switch to the Eclipse Scythe and take them out.
- When that eventful battle ends, head through the door and visit the shop. There is a corpse at the top of the ladder containing the History of the Castle of the Dragon.
- Jump out the window and immediately fight the Melee Ninjas, approximately 10 of them. Use the Izuna Drop on any enemy you can isolate. There is a chest to the left with full Red Orbs.
- Head back up the path. Find corpse in an alley to the right with an Herb of Spiritual Life.
- Observe the headless statue to the left. Place the Izo Statue Head on top. It will spawn a chest with a Grains of Spiritual Life.
- Head through the archway and save at the save point.
- When ready go across the bridge. There's a cluster of Melee Ninjas. Destroy them and move on.
- When you get to the water dive in and head through the tunnel. When you emerge the Melee Ninjas will mob you. They should go down easy. Get the Crystal Skull in the shack.
- Head up the jungle path and take out the archers at the top of the hill using the Windmill Shuriken. Further up the hill encounter more Melee NInjas. Defeat them all and continue.
- At the end of the path head through the cave. After defeating another small group of Melee Ninjas you will be given access to another save point.
- Find chest further down the path containing an Herb of Spiritual Life.
- To the left there is a Test of Valor.
- Head back outside of the tunnel and directly opposite the save point there is a ledge you can jump on. Continue upward and head inside the castle, examining corpseS in the hallways as you pass them.
- Once you get through the castle use the rope to climb across and access the next save point. Exploring the area below the rope will yield a Crystal Skull.
- Climb back up and follow the path behind the save point. You will eventually reach a clearing an encounter a fairly large number of Melee Ninjas. Fight them off until the the cutscene begins.
- At the end of the cut scene use the save point and head up the path. Continue along the path until you reach a drop. Drop down and use the Muramasa shop to replenish your supplies. Leave a slot open for the Grains of Spiritual Life, since you can find a free one to the left of the STORE on a corpse.
- Head in the opposite direction and you will come to an opening populated with Ninja Dogs. Take them out and preserve as much life as possible. Use the Vigoorian Flail, the Kusari-gama or the Flying Swallow technique. There is a dead body in the middle of the opening with a notebook.
- Cross the opening and head through the new passage. You will find yourself on an open hill that looks like a battlefield (which it is). Destroy all of the enemies that attack you here. When the coast is clear, open the chest along the right wall for an Herb of Spiritual Life.
- Walk through the archway to the left side of the hill to trigger the cutscene and boss fight.
-
Boss: Genshin (Third Encounter)
- TIP: Genshin's moves are similar to the last encounter, but with added speed. Luckily, you won't be trying to simultaneously fight off Melee Ninjas with incendiary shurikens this time. Use the open space to evade and attack with strong ground combos. Stay very close to Genshin at all times. Use the Reverse Wind technique to run circles around him while he tries his combos (as you did before). You'll need to wait about 5-6 seconds, or a few combo routines, before you should try and launch a small attack of you own. Hit him with little 3-4 hit combos whenever you can, then use Reverse Wind to get away from him.
- Ninpo is minimally effective against him. Your best bet is fast ground combos.
- If you get too far away from him, he uses incendiary shurikens on you, and he can also use his Ultimate Technique. Keep dodging/striking, dodging/striking, and he'll go down in no time.

Chapter 12 - Quickening Devastation
- There is a Muramasa shop on your right. Stock up if you need to.
- Head up the hill, and encounter a group of Dragon Demons. Use the Eclipse Scythe'S Blood Rain ability (Y while jumping) on the Dragon Demons to eliminate them. This is a very effective combo against these enemies. Bear in mind they use a projectile attack with three full bursts when from a distance, so stay close to them.
- TIP: You can retreat a few steps down the path, and charge up the Boomerang Shuriken, and unleash it on them. This can kill them rather quickly. A double-charged boomerang shuriken will often instantly kill them.
- TIP: Soften up the dragons from a distance with the shuriken with normal shuriken attacks, then close in with the Flying Swallow to finish them off. A Triple flying swallow is typically enough to kill them.
- Once they're down make your way up and around on the ledge/path up to a save point.
- Head into the next area out into a big open area, and trigger a cutscene.
Sub-Boss: Giant Armadillos
- TIP: This is the same Armadillo you fought at the end of Chapter 7, except there are two of them now. Luckily their health will drain much faster than in the previous fight. Focus on one Armadillo at a time. You don't want them to both go berserk at 50% health at the same time.
- TIP: Close in one of the Armadillos, always staying to its side or back, and use the Blade of Susano'o technique (X Y X X X X) directly on its face. If executed properly, this will do massive damage to the Armadillo, and you will only need to launch a couple of offensives before it's down.
- TIP: Whenever either of the Armadillos shoots fireballs from its back, or rolls up into a ball, Reverse Wind without end until you are safe.
- TIP: When one of the Armadillos goes berserk, you may be tempted to stay back away from it. However, do the exact opposite, and close in quickly for the kill. The longer it is berserk the better chance you have of taking damage.
- Blip.tv: Ninja Gaiden II Walkthrough - Chapter 12 - Sub-Boss Fight #1 (Time: 3:38)
- When both Armadillos are down, head down the next path and defeat the demons. Look for a chest in the lava but don't stay down there too long, as it will drain your health. Continue onward to the next save point.
- Next you will encounter a crowd of Dragon Demons. Use the Flying Swallow in combination with Ninpos to defeat the dragons. Alternatively, the Eclipse Scythe is an effective weapon against the Dragon Demons.
- Drop down on to the island surrounded by lava. Use the Vigoorian Flail to fight off the Undead Fish. Use the Flying Swallow to get across to the other islands, The third island contains a corpse with a Devil Way Mushroom.
- Watch the cutscene and prepare for the final battle with Zedonius.
Sub-Boss: Zedonius - Second Encounter
- TIP: As soon as the battle begins, run to the side of the island or use Reverse Wind in order to dodge Zedonius' early string of fireball attacks. Wait for him to set up for his ground attacks. Block and use Reverse Wind to circle him, then counter his short attacks, launching the Blood Rain combo using the ECLIPISE SCYTHE. Note that Zedonius will be almost completely helpless against this attack when he is on the ground. It can even get into a cycle where you jump, use Blood Rain, he turns slightly, jump, use Blood Rain, and he will have very little ability to retaliate.
- When you're not attacking, you should be dodging non-stop in circles around him, and then continue with the Scythe technique.
- BEWARE: He throws fireballs, has melee combos, and he does an intensely powerful fire-beam blast (very damaging). He will also (as before) spawn Fire Demons to assist him. He is most vulnerable when he is landed on the ground.
- TIP: If things get out of hand on the main island, you can always take flight and run out onto the lava bed, tapping A to run across. As long as you don't fall into the lava, you won't take damage. When you're ready flip back around and launch a fresh offensive.
- Achievement: Extinguished the Flame
- Acquire Item: Heart of the Malevolent Flame
- Blip.tv: Ninja Gaiden II Walkthrough - Chapter 12 - Sub-Boss Fight #2 (Time: 1:40)
- After Zedonius falls, take the arrows from the corpse and take out the mines that are positioned near the doorway. Then run on top of the lava towards the door.
- WARNING: You will die if you try to run across the mines, and you'll have to fight Zedonius all over again.
- Save you game at the save point inside the archway. There is also a chest with Red Orbs. There is a shop right outside of the caves, save after you buy whatever you need.
- Head down the widened path and use the Eclipse Scythe to take out the demons. Check the corpse and the chest further down the path on the left side for an Herb of Spiritual Life and Blue Orbs . Head down the hill toward the opening where you will fight Volf for the last time.
Boss: Volf - (Second Encounter)
- TIP: As soon as the battle begins, your main goal should be closing the distance between you and Volf. Completely ignore the centaurs, and do your best to avoid Volf's shock-wave attack in order to get within striking distance. Once you have him right in right of you, use the Eclipse Scythe to spam him with Blood Rain attacks, and strong combos with the SCYTHE such as Reversed Tsunami (→ X X X X X). This battle can be painfully easy if managed correctly.
- Keeping yourself airborne will help dodge the centaurs.
- Achievement unlocked: Silence the Storm
