Mission.002
- Before starting the mission, we upgraded the Oni-Slayer Blade and Stonerender Sword. To do this, select "Upgrade Sword" from the mission menu, select the sword you want to upgrade and hold right on the left thumbstick to allocate Blood Crystals. Fill the meter to upgrade the weapon.
- The level begins with Ken using a mounted machine gun turret. Press RB to switch to missiles and use the left thumbstick to aim at the worm. Press RT to fire.
- Keep lobbing shells into the worm. You should have enough ammo to fend it off without reloading.
- Press LT to reload once you see the nearby plane go down in flames. Now, press RB to use the machine gun.
- Keep an eye out for flying creatures in the sky. Shoot them down with the machine gun.
- You'll have to fend off a few waves of these creatures. Be sure to reload between each group of enemies.
- When the worm appears, start hitting it with the machine gun. After a few hits, Ken will climb onto the roof, triggering a Quick Time Event.
- You'll tap buttons in sets of three when prompted here, but the exact button is random. Be ready to do this twice, then hit A to dive and A to use your wire.
- Use your sword to defeat the enemies. Start with regular attacks, then finish off with Y when you see th prompts above their heads. You can follow the sequence of prompts that follow to earn bonus crystals.
- After you defeat the enemies, you'll have to deal with another Quick Time Event. Press the left thumbstick right to dodge the Impaler Leech as it enters the area.
- The Leech uses invisible attacks that hang in the air. Press LB to activate Ninja Vision and you'll be able to see them. Dodge these attacks as you get close.
- Switch to the Stonerender and start attacking. When the Leech flails up into the air, use a quick dash (RT) to retreat.
- Keep attacking. After enough hits, the Leech will curl up and start rolling. Press right when prompted to dodge it.
- Repeat the cycle, but watch for Carriers that appear at the opposite end of the room from the Leech. You can kill them for some health if you need it. There's also health in the barrels scattered around here.
- After hitting the worm this time, dodge left instead of right, then start the cycle anew. You'll now have to jump over blue energy attacks as you're moving in.
- After you deplete the Leech's energy, start a Todome by pressing A. Then, hit X, A, A, A, Y.
- You're not out of the woods yet. When the Scolex Worm appears, press down, then Y to jump out the window.
- When you reach the bottom, start running from the Worm, using RT to dash. Jump over the first gap, then use the poles to get over the second gap.
- Keep running until you get to the end of the path, then press A to jump.
- You're now sliding down the building. Use the thumbstick to avoid enemies' projectiles. When you get close to them, mash X to defeat them.
- As you reach the bottom, a Worm will appear from the ground. Hit up to dodge, then tap X repeatedly when Ken lands on the worm's back. Press A to use the wire, and A to land.
- It's time to fight the Scolex Worm. Dodge its projectiles by running out of the way. When it roars with its mouth open, stand back and get ready to jump as it pounds the ground.
- Dash in and use your Stonerender to attack the beast.
- Repeat this cycle. After hitting it a second time, stand back again. The worm will swipe from right to left. Move in after this and keep attacking.
- Now, the worm will move up to the platform on the right. Dash up the wall to reach it and attack some more.
- When it opens its mouth, use Ninja Vision to see its invisible attacks. Get out of the way and wait until they're no longer a threat.
- When you see the worm curl back with its face to one side, dash to the railing closest to the camera. Then, attack after it swipes the ground.
- After a few successful attacks, the worm will go back to the lower level. Follow it down and keep attacking.
- You'll now have to deal with bats. Switch to your twin blades and start fending them off, but keep an eye on the worm. You'll have to jump to avoid its pound attacks or dodge projectiles as you clear out the smaller enemies.
- Once you've dealt with the bats, start fighting the worm again. Keep dodging its lunge attacks, then countering until its energy is depleted.
- To perform the Todome, wallrun up to the platform on your right. Go to the wall on the right side of this raised platform and wall run up. At the top, jump so you land on the opposite platform. Run to the worm at the center and press X to start the finishing move.
- Now, tap A repeatedly, then hit A. Dodge by pressing up, then hit A and A again.
- Next is another escape sequence. Hold RT for this entire area. The first three gaps, you can wallrun across normally.
- At the fourth gap, start on the right side and jump across to the left while wallrunning.
- At the fifth gap, start at the left and jump to the right while wallrunning.
- At the end, press down to dodge.
- Your next objective is to pursue the Slime Chopper. Turn the corner and start running down the corridor. You can get past the first two wallrun segments without jumping.
- Jump up the small ledges. To get past the missiles, stand on one side of the platform, then wallrun on the other side as you're dodging the missiles.
- EMBLEM: After the Slime Chopper retreats, break open the barrels on either side of the open area. The Shuriken emblem is inside.
- To reach the next platform, use Ninja Vision and look at the far building. You'll see part of the wall colored in blue. Throw a Cyclone Shuriken at this area to expose a grappling surface.
- Now, switch to the twin blades and press A to grapple. Switch to your Stonerender when you reach the top and kill the surrounding foes.
- Switch to your regular blade and climb the ledge. Kill the enemies here, but don't slash the red barrels. They'll explode, hurting Ken. There are, however, a couple sets of near the wall on the left which contain items.
- SHINOBI MOJI: After defeating these enemies, head up the next ledge to where you see a pole coming from the wall. Don't go across yet. Instead, drop down into the gap and destroy the barrels for the collectible.
- From here, climb up the other wall and turn the corner. Open the nearby barrels before moving forward.
- You'll see the wall explode on your left as you move forward. Wait until the gunfire subsides, then go inside and head to the nearest pillar.
- Move between the pillars to reach the Slime Chopper.
- Reflect the projectiles from the enemies ahead by pressing X just before they hit. Defeat the three nearest enemies, then use a Cyclone Shuriken to reveal a grapple point near where they stood.
- Grapple to the next building, and quickly use another Cyclone Shuriken to destroy the exploding barrels ahead.
- Use the Stonerender to clear our the enemies. When they're defeated, open the boxes on the right side of this area for a First Aid Spray.
- Now, go around to the left side of the building. This area is littered with red barrels. Dodge the missiles from the Chopper, then use Cyclone Shuriken to clear a safe path.
- Get close to the Chopper and it will retreat. Grapple to the next building.
- Start clearing out the Carriers here with your sword, but stay away from the Chopper's bullets.
- Once they're all dead, the Chopper will come to the center of the building. Hold LT to block its fire, then dash in and use the Stonerender to deal some damage.
- Repeat this cycle a few times to deplete the Slime Chopper's energy. Move around to its right side and press A to start the Todome.
- The sequence here is A, X, Y, down, then tap A four times quickly.
- When Ken is riding the missile, press left, a, right, left, then Y to execute the Todome.
- Ken will learn how to use the Flame Shuriken. When this happens, be ready to press B when prompted.
- Cross the bridge. To get through the infected plants on the other side, switch to the Flame Shuriken by pressing RB, then hold B to line up a shot. This Shuriken works like a grenade, so find the range you want and let go of B to launch the attack.
- You can also throw a Flame Shuriken without aiming. Try this at the next level with all the enemies shooting projectiles. As an alternative, beat back their fire with sword slices.
- Go to the end of the building and use the pole to swing to the next building below. Use Flame Shuriken to kill the enemies near the barrels, and finish the rest off with the Stonerender.
- Once the enemies are defeated, go to the lower platform on the end of the building and break open the plant barrier. Then, use the wall on the right to reach the next platform.
- From here, wall run on the left wall, then jump to the platform on your right. Use a Cyclone Shuriken to reveal the next Grapple point, and swing to the next building.
- CHI PIECE: When you reach the building, break open the group of barrels on your right to get the Chi Piece.
- You'll reach a room with several Winged Ants and Carriers. Take care of the Winged Ants first by tossing Flame Shuriken at them.
- Now, use your blade to kill the unshielded carriers. Try to dash out of the way if you get surrounded, then keep attacking. Once they're defeated, use the Stonerender on the remaining enemies.
- At the end of this building, tap A with the Stonerender in hand to break the wall.
- As you move through the next hallway, watch for red barrels. Use a Flame Shuriken to safely clear out the second set of crates.
- When you reach the next room, retreat to the hallway and let the enemies come to you. When all the Carriers are defeated, go into the dark room.
- You can't kill all the Winged Ants here, because something is spawning them. Use Ninja Vision to reveal a giant creature at the end of the room. Toss a Flame Shuriken to kill it.
- OUTFIT: On the right side of this room, there are metal crates with a breakable wall behind them. Destroy both with your Stonerender. Break the barrels in here to get the "Pine and Crane" outfit.
- On the left side of the room, there's a fence with an opening on the right side. First, launch a Cyclone Shuriken at the barrels and enemies in the distance, then start breaking all the nearby crates.
- You'll find an opening in the middle. Go through here, and break the crates on the left side. This gives you an Adrenaline Boost and a place to wallrun up.
- HEALTH PIECE: Go up this wall and break the pile of barrels at the platform above to get the next Health Piece.
- Go around to the side of this room where you previously blasted the group of enemies. Throw a Flame Shuriken at the stack of crates, then break through the wall.
- Head into the next room. First thing's first, toss as Flame Shuriken at the giant plant creature ahead to destroy it.
- Now, go to the wall that's immediately to the left of where you came in. Wallrun across here, then jump to the opposite platform. Toss a Flame Shuriken at the pile of enemies on this platform.
- Throw another Flame Shuriken at the group of enemies on the platform slightly below.
- Before going to that platform, use a Cyclone Shuriken to put out the flames ahead. Then, run along the wall to the left and jump to the opposite platform.
- Climb up the pile of rubble leading to the platform that holds the giant plant. As you get close, toss Flame Shuriken to kill the enemies.
- CHI PIECE: There's one lone barrel on this high platform. Break it to get the third Chi Piece, extending your Chi Gauge.
- From here, you have a nice vantage point on the enemies below. Aim your Flame Shuriken to kill them, then drop down and put out the flames with Cyclone Shuriken.
- Move ahead. At the end of the platform, use the pole to reach the level below. You'll have to hit A when prompted to survive the landing.
- HEALTH PIECE: Before engaging the enemies on the ground, go forward and to the left side. You'll see a column that you can wallrun up. Use this to reach a balcony with several enemies. Kill them with your Stonerender, then break the nearby barrels for the third Health Piece, which increases your Health Gauge.
- Before dropping down, aim your Flame Shuriken and kill any enemies below that you can see.
- Go down and break open any barrels around for health, then take care of the remaining foes with your Stonerender.
- This triggers a Quick Time Event. Press A, Left, Right and X. Then, Endure by tapping the button that appears on screen. Do this again, then press A twice.
- You're now on a high platform. Kill the swarm of bats with a Flame Shuriken, then beat back the gunners by slicing their bullets with the sword.
- Use the Cyclone Shuriken to reveal a grapple point and swing to the next platform.
- Break open the barrels here for a First Aid Spray. Use the pole on the left side of the platform to get ahead. Run up the wall on your right to confront the Plague Snail.
- Avoid the projectiles but keep an eye on the Snail.
- When you see a spiked ball rolling around in the Snail's mouth, it's preparing to send out a spiked tongue. Dodge to either side, then dash to the side of the tongue and use your Stonerender. The closer to the mouth you are, the more chances you'll have to strike, but don't attack too late.
- When it opens its mouth wide and sends out blue energy pulses. Get close and jump over them. While in the air, you can press B to throw Flame Shuriken at the mouth.
- Ignore the bats until you're dodging projectiles. This will give you enough time to swipe them with your twin blades.
- Note that there are stacks of barrels on either side of the arena with health inside.
- After a few successful hits, a pair of Worms will appear. Dash backwards to avoid their lunging attacks. You can beat them back as they lay on the ground.
- Just before death, the Snail will start shooting invisible attacks. Use Ninja Vision to spot them, get close and use Flame Shuriken to attack.
- Deplete the Snail's energy and it's time for a Todome. Get close and press A to begin.
- Press X, then Endure by tapping the button that appears on screen. Press A, A, A and Ken will get on a motorcycle spit out of the Snail's mouth.
- Press Up to dive, then Down. Press A, then B to throw the motorcycle, then Y to finish off the creature, ending the mission.
