  • Artistic Freedom

Over the years, Reznor has been an outspoken critic of the music industry and its efforts at stifling artistic freedom. After disputes with a number of different record labels, Reznor decided to release his latest album without the help of a label. In March 2008, Reznor released a portion of 6th studio album, Ghosts I-IV, as a free download. The full 36 track album was sold though Amazon.com for $5. Despite the free downloads, the album became the Amazon.com MP3 store’s bestselling album of 2008.
