  • Niger is a landlocked country in western Africa, it is bordered by Nigeria and Benin to the south, Burkina Faso and Mali to the west, Chad to the east and Libya and Algeria to the north. The country's largest export is Uranium.

  • Brief History

    One of the first Empire's to rule Niger was the Songhai Empire. In the 19th century century the area would come under loose European control. In 1922, it would become a French colony. Niger would become a autonomous state in 1958 and then be given full independence on August 3, 1960.

  • Geography

    Niger is located in West Africa between the Sub-Saharan and Sahara Regions. It is the world's 22nd largest country. It borders seven countries Libya, Nigeria,Benin, Algeria, Burkina Faso,Mali and Chad. The country consists of mostly desert area and sand dunes, and has a subtropical climate that is dry and very hot.
