Nicole Buffet is the granddaughter of the richest man in the world, billionaire investor Warren Buffett, but Nicole is not wealthy. She was disowned by her grandfather after speaking publicly about her family on "The One Percent". The One Percent is a documentary that was made in 2006 by the Wise & Good Film. It is a humorous documentary that explores the lives of the wealthiest Americans, and the gaps between the rich and the poor in America. The documentary’s thesis is that this amount of wealth that only a few people have could be dangerous to our way of life. It was directed by Jamie Johnson and written by Nick Kurzon. The participants to the show were Nicole Buffett, Steve Forbes, Milton Friedman, Bill Gates Sr., and Adnan Khashoggi. Warren has always insisted that the family keep as much of a low profile as he has always done. Nicole Buffet was disowned by Warren Buffett when he found out she had participated in the documentary. Peter Buffett, her father, was aware of her participation in the documentary and had not had any objections but she did not let her grandfather know. Nicole was not born into wealth, she and her twin sister were adopted by Peter Buffett when he and their mother divorced; they had been married for ten years and the twins were in the late teens at the time of the divorce.
