Nicoise Salad

    • Also called: Salad niçoise
    • Origin: Nice, France
    • Can be made with any fish or meat
    • It is debated whether tomatoes or greens make a better base
  • Originally from the region in France known as Nice, the niçoise salad is traditionally made with tuna, greens, tomatoes, anchovies, black olives, capers, hardboiled eggs, green beans, and vinaigrette dressing.

While often placed in many a niçoise salad recipes, the ingredients, rice, potatoes, cheese, pasta or cooked vegetables, are not classic parts of the salad.
