  • NHL Career

    Tarnasky was drafted 287th overall in the 2003 NHL draft by the Tampa Bay Lightning. He continued to play for his junior team, the Lethbridge Hurricanes of the Western Hockey League for one season after the draft, then joined the Lightning's American Hockey League affiliate, the Springfield Falcons, in 2004. He made his NHL debut with the Lightning in 2005 and split his first season between the Lightning and the Falcons. After earning a full roster spot with the Lightning in 2006, Tarnasky renewed his contract to stay with the franchise for three years. In September of 2008, Tarnasky was traded to the Nashville Predators.
