    Schultz was drafted 33rd overall in the 2000 NHL Draft by the Minnesota Wild. He joined the Wild in 2001 for his NHL debut, playing 52 games and scoring four goals and six assists. Schultz continued as a full member of the Wild until the 2004-05 NHL Lockout, when he played in Germany for the Kassel Huskies. Schultz renewed his contract with the Wild on February 23, 2008.
