• Nick Nolte is an american actor, former model, and producer. He was born on February 8, 1941 in Omaha, Nebraska. He has a sister named Nancy. Nolte attended Pasadena City College, Arizona State University, and Phoenix College. He ended his studies as a result of bad grades and began his theater acting career. Nolte married Sheila Page in 1966. Their marriage ended in a divorce three years later. In 1978, the actor married Sharyn Haddad. The couple divorced in 1983. A year later, Nolte tried his hand at marriage again with Rebecca Linger. They had a son together named Brawley Nolte. Brawley is an actor as well and played in the 1996 film Ransom. Nolte and Linger divorced in 1994. Nolte currently lives in Malibu, California.

• Acting Career

  Nolte first began his acting career in theater. He became famous for his role in Rich Man, Poor Man in 1976. From there, he went on to play in the films 48 Hrs., Down and Out in Beverly Hills, Another 48 Hrs., Cape Fear and The Prince of Tides, for which he won a Golden Globe Award. His more recent works include The Good Thief, Hulk, Hotel Rwanda, The Beautiful Country, Off the Black and Peaceful Warrior.

• Alcoholism

  Nolte is known for his history of alcoholism. On September 11, 2002, Nolte was arrested for a DUI. He is now famous for his mug shot taken at the time of his arrest. He entered drug rehab as a result of this arrest. In July of 2007, Nolte was found passed out in the Kauai Airport in Hawaii in a drunken stoop while he was waiting for a delayed flight.
