  • Nick Carter is an American singer and actor. He rose to fame in the 1990s as a member of the popular boy band Backstreet Boys. He is also the older sibling of pop singer Aaron Carter.

    In February 2009, Carter revealed a 10-year struggle with drug and alcohol addiction that resulted in him being diagnosed with cardiomyopathy, a weakening of the heart muscle, in 2007. Now clean and healthy, Carter told People Magazine, "I don't want to die.     In 2006 Nick Carter, along with his four siblings, appeared in the E! reality show House of Carters. The 8-episode show focused on the dysfunctional interactions of the Carter siblings as the attempted to revive failing careers. The show was not picked up for a second season.
