Nick Boynton

  • Canadian professional hockey player Nick Boynton plays for the Phoenix Coyotes in the National Hockey League.
  • NHL Career

    Boynton was drafted ninth overall in the 1997 NHL draft by the Washington Capitals. It was shortly after the draft that he was diagnosed as a Type 1 diabetic and did not sign with the Capitals. Boynton re-entered the draft in 1999 and was selected 21st overall by the Boston Bruins. He joined the Bruins for his NHL debut in 1999 and split his first two seasons between the Bruins and their American Hockey League affiliate, the Providence Bruins. During the 2004-05 NHL lockout, Boynton played in the United Kingdom, for the Nottingham Panthers in the Elite Ice Hockey League. He joined the Boston Bruins for one additional season after the lockout before he was traded to the Phoenix Coyotes on June 26, 2006.
