Nicanor Duarte is a former President of Paraguay. He was the 11th consecutive member of the ruling Colorado Party to be elected. Presidential Performance
In addition to his opposition towards neo-liberalism and free trade, Duarte campaigned on promises of reducing government corruption and nationwide poverty. Duarte was not only the 11th, but also the last consecutive Colorado President. He officially endorsed Blanca Ovelar, a fellow member of the Colorado Party, in her 2008 presidential campaign. Her loss to Fernando Luca, marked the end of 61 years of Colorado government.
