Nia Vardalos is a Greek Canadian actress who has appeared in several television shows and films including Team Knight Rider and My Big Fat Greek Wedding.
2009 sees the release of My Life in Ruins, which is Vardalos' first major film project since My Big Fat Greek Wedding. The film follows is a romance between Georgia, a literature professor played by Vardalos, and Poupi Kakas, an Athens tour bus driver played by Alexis Georgoulis.
