2008 Week Eight
For the fifth consecutive week, several teams had the week off from playing games as they observe their bye week. This means that the Bears, Broncos, Packers and Vikings all were off. Week eight also marked the second consecutive season, and third time in history, in which a regular season game was be contested outside of the United States and in the city of London. Wembley Stadium was the site as the San Diego Chargers take on the New Orleans Saints. The winner of this game hoped that history repeats itself, because the winner of the 2007 game in London went on to win the Super Bowl. Back across the pond in America, there was no Sunday Night Football contest as the NFL traditionally elects not to play a game opposite the first Sunday night game of the World Series. However, the week concluded on Monday Night Football with an AFC South match-up between the Indianapolis Colts and the Tennessee Titans in Nashville. -
