NFL Rule Changes

Categories: Sports | Football
  • A number of rule changes have been adopted for the 2009 National Football League season. These NFL rule changes are aimed at improving player safety. In addition to these league-wide policies, a special rule change has been made for punts in the new Cowboys Stadium. If a punt hits the overhead scoreboard, the ball is immediately dead and the clock is reset to exactly where it was before the snap and the down replayed.http://fifthdown.blogs.nytimes.com/2009/09/10/rules-changes-emphasize-safety-did-nfl-do-enough/ http://fifthdown.blogs.nytimes.com/2009/08/28/nfl-adopts-new-ground-rules-for-cowboys-stadium/
