The Second round of the 2010 NFL Draft will take place on April 23, 2010. It will begin at 6PM EST, and be aired live on TV on ESPN and the NFL Network.
NFL Team expect players in this round to come to their teams and compete for starting jobs. There is a lot of value in these picks as the contracts needed to get them signed at not nearly as expensive as players picked in the first round.
History shows us that a number of future NFL stars were taken in the second round of the draft, and the 2010 NFL Draft is fairly deep at many different positions.

Notable 2010 NFL Draft picks over the last ten NFL drafts
- 2009- Louis Delmas, S Detroit Lions- the Lions picked up the best rated safety prospect with the first pick in the second round. He contributed big time, and was in the running for NFL Defensive rookie of the year. He was the Rookie of the month for September and the only NFL rookie to return an interception, a fumble and register a safety in his first year in the League. He is only the second player to accomplish that feat in one season.
- 2008- DeSean Jackson, WR Philadelphia Eagles- with the 18th pick in the second round the Eagles land a Wide Out that has averaged 1,000 yards receiving in his first two NFL season
- 2007- Sidney Rice, WR Minnesota Vikings- the Vikings scored big time with the 44th overall selection in the second round of the 2007 draft. He had a break out year in 2009 catching 83 balls, and being a primary weapon of the Viking offensive attack
- 2006- Maurice Jones Drew, RB, Jacksonville Jaguars- Jacksonville has done pretty well in the NFL Draft in their short history. At the bottom end of the 2006 second round they landed Drew, who stats speak for themselves
- 2005- Vincent Jackson, WR San Diego Chargers- it might have taken him a few years to develop but Jackson is a major piece of one of the most impressive offensive attacks in the league today
- 2004- Karlos Dansby, LB Arizona Cardinals- All this guy does it register 100 tackles a year. He is a one of the biggest reasons the Cardinals made the Super Bowl, and now he brings his show to the Miami Dolphins
- 2003- Anquan Boldin, WR Arizona Cardinals- selected with the 22nd pick in the second round, Boldin’s stats speak for themselves. He is another one of the biggest reasons the Cardinals were able to reach a Super Bowl
- 2002- Clinton Portis, RB Denver Broncos- He averaged 1,500- yards for his two seasons with the Broncos, and went on to rush for nearly 10,000 years so far in his career
- 2001- Drew Brees, QB San Diego Chargers- Super Bowl MVP, in 2009 he completed 70% of his passes and led the most impressive offensive attack in recent NFL History.
- 2000- Marcus Washington, LB, Indianapolis Colts- In nine years with the Colts and Redskins he has nearly 500 tackles, and 37.5 sacks. That is a very fine career
